Very rare anonymous map of the Middle East. Showing the Eastern Mediterranean with Cyprus up to today Iraq / Iran in the East. Some cities with details small views e.g. Babylon with the Tower of Babel. With beautiful figural and allegoric engraved frame, a sailing ship and a wale. From a German bible printed in Minden by J. Detleffsen in 1716.
Lower part of centrefold backed, small tear in lower margin backed, small hole close to centrefold backed without losses of the image. Overall good condition.
