Beautiful original coloured map of Asia. From the 1580 German edition of Theatrum Orbis Terrarum by Abraham Ortelius. The cartographical source of this map comes from Ortelius own 1567 wall map of Asia, based on work by Gastaldi and Albufeda (Ortelius Atlas Maps, van den Broecke).
Minor overall toning. Tears in centrefold and margin profesionally repaired. Two vertical creases flattened. Small old ink spot in top margin just into the printed frame. Overall good condition in excellent original colour.
